What is MAPS?
Microsoft Azure Peering Service (MAPS) is a companion service, available to customers who purchase connectivity solutions via the Cloud Gateway platform.
If you run critical applications in Azure, using the internet as backbone increases the risk of higher latency and limits your control over how data is routed. Our MAPS service provides direct access to Microsoft services. It can be purchased in bandwidth increments between 100Mbps and 10Gbps.
How does it work?
Our MAPS service includes direct connectivity to Microsoft’s public backbone network via a dedicated peering connection within the UK. It avoids routing Microsoft traffic over the internet, ensuring:
